12-Tilapia
Tilapia may decorate your table more often than cod, but this fish is not safer if it comes from China. Similar to cod, the tilapia sits in tiny tanks teeming with fish. The water in the tanks is full of toxic chemicals and other harmful substances that you never want to let get into your body.
If your fish is imported from China, do not buy it. Before they land on your plate, the fish have spent their lives sucking up the chemicals around them. They are perfectly prepared to pass these chemicals on to you, so shop carefully when planning a seafood dinner.
13-Ginseng
A large part of the ginseng available in the USA comes from China. This root product is one of the most exported foods from the country. This does not mean that it is safe.
Greenpeace tested ginseng from China and found that each individual product contained traces of pesticides or other harmful chemicals in varying amounts. Nor did each root contain just one chemical. Each root contained several chemicals known to be harmful to the human body. Since it may be difficult to find ginseng that was not imported from China, you may have to eliminate it from your diet altogether to stay safe.
