Sleep deprivation is dangerous. A reduced amount of sleep, voluntarily or involuntarily, has deleterious effects on your whole body. In fact, a study published last year showed that even a small amount of sleep – less than six hours a night for a week – directly affects more than 700 genes in the human body. That’s alarming when you consider that more than half of Americans don’t get the recommended seven hours of sleep or more, according to a recent survey.
The danger of sleep deprivation is that you don’t feel these consequences in the short term. especially when you’re young enough. but trust me when you’re over 40 years old. the problems will just start.
